I heard an interview on Saturday with a man whose job I would never, in a million years, have guessed. He’s the chaplain for the East Coast Rail network. That’s his job, an itinerant, Railway Children chaplain.

He made some salient points during his interview. There are prison chaplains, airport chaplains… Why not a chaplain for any big organisation where people just might find themselves in trouble?

I couldn’t fault the logic, even if the theology is not mine. But, belief or not, what a great job to put on your CV. ‘Railway chaplain.’ It has a lot going for it.
