My local newspaper had a front page headline last week. ‘Wife’s shotgun blast just missed husband’s head.’

It’s not much to report is it? It was a deliberate murder attempt, which is mildly interesting I suppose. But she missed.

How the hell do you miss with a shotgun? They’re specifically designed not to miss. You need to be incompetent in the extreme not to take out somebody in the same room with a scattergun. How poor a shot do you need to be to make a hash of it?

If I were to be on the jury, I’d acquit her but recommend psychiatric help. And some lessons at a gun range
