Car manufacturer Nissan’s pointyheads have developed some self-parking slippers. You can take them off anywhere in the house and watch them find their home port. The footwear is actually pretty nifty at reverse parking.
I acknowledge there’s no intention to market them, it’s just a gimmicky way of promoting a new brand of self-parking car.
I have some fixed ideas about the concept of self-parking cars. One of them is that if you can’t park a damned car on your own, you really shouldn’t be driving, should you? If the system fails, you’re royally screwed.
On the topic of system failure, I’d love to see the insurance claim if your motor rolls into another while you’re effectively asleep at the wheel. That would be a riot of paperwork and arse-covering.
