Some diners in a swanky restaurant ordered a bottle if wine for 260 quid. Yes, that sort of restaurant. Anyway, the server made a cockup and served them a bottle that should have been 4500 smackers.
Two things. Who pays 260 pounds for a bottle of wine. As a sommelier friend of mine once said, ‘The best wine is the one you like.’ Secondly the expensive bottle can’t have been up to much if the drinkers didn’t notice the ‘higher’ quality. Probably not worth the money, even though they didn’t pay for it.
